During my experience in an MFA program. I explored the question of where personal artistic aesthetics develop when creating new work. Studio Visit explores how present environment and situations affect the content of work. After several studio visits by faculty, students and curators I began to notice the trend of visitors discussing the space of the studio as though it was an art piece itself. Studio Visit objectifies the space of the studio to a sculptural piece literally turning it into an artwork to be discussed. As well, this piece aims to question the nature of deadlines in an artistic practice and the role of work which is considered to be “in process”.
